Palm Springs real estate agent Geoffrey Moore is drawing attention to the all-LGBTQ+ resort-style retirement community set to open in 2023 in Palm Springs, Living Out. The real estate agent is encouraging his senior LGBTQ+ clients to find out more about the community which is currently accepting reservations.
Living Out bills itself as an elegant apartment community for active LGBTQ 55+ adults. On its website, it says that it is designed to be a “beautiful, welcoming, safe, and inclusive living experience that celebrates the vibrancy of living authentically as an LGBTQ person.” The apartment complex has been designed keeping in mind the mid-century modern design that Palm Springs is well-known for. Its construction ethos features open floor plans, large lanais, an inviting grand lobby, desert mountain views of the San Jacinto, Santa Rosa, and San Gorgonio Mountains, and dramatically landscaped grounds.
The apartment community features several indoor lifestyle amenities such as an upscale full-service restaurant and bar, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a massage studio, a private hair, manicure, and pedicure salon, a screening room for watching movies and entertaining guests, and community, game, card, and arts & crafts rooms. Outdoors, the real estate project boasts of a nine-acre oasis with more than six acres of dramatic landscaping including curated trees, shrubs, flowering plants, herb gardens, rose gardens, orchards, a large event lawn, outdoor BBQ and dining areas, walking trails, and more. There is also a grand resort-style pool and three separate jacuzzi spa areas, a dog park with amenities, two professionally designed bocce ball courts, real grass putting green, and residential, guest, and retail parking.
When it was announced, the project was set to offer condominiums to buyers within a price range of $600,000 to $900,000. However, post the coronavirus pandemic, the company behind the project, Los-Angeles based KOAR International, decided to shift to a rental model, in line with other senior independent living communities that it manages in other parts of the state.
When asked about the considerations to make while moving to Palm Springs as someone who identifies as LGBTQ+, Geoffrey Moore says, “Are you an LGBTQ+ individual or family unit that is considering moving to Palm Springs? In that case, you are going to be welcomed by the friendliest community filled with kindred spirits that understand your struggle and will try to make you feel at home in this lovely and vibrant resort city. To make your transition to Palm Springs as smooth and hassle-free as possible, I recommend visiting the city and living here for some time before committing to moving here.
Live here for a couple of months and experience the many notable and iconic gay events on our calendar such as the Dinah Shore Weekend, Greater Palm Springs Pride, White Party Palm Springs, Cinema Diverse Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival, Desert AIDS Walk, and more. A lot of the residents who are currently lapping up the private properties in Palm Springs began by moving here temporarily. They experienced the inclusive and inviting atmosphere of the city for all LGBTQ+ individuals and loved it so much that they couldn’t wait to call this place home. So, give our desert oasis a try and when you are ready to pick out the perfect spot in the city to settle in, give me a call and I’ll put all my resources behind you to find a dream picturesque abode that will let you enjoy the legendarily sunny California weather.”
